THE MOUNTAIN MEADOWS MASSACRE
SUNDAY 11TH 2008

September dawn is a historical film set in the U.S.A. based around the day of 11th September 1857 .It tells the romantic tragedy of how both the bishop and mayor of a town ordered the slaughter of 120 innocent gentiles(apparently in the name of God), travelling from Missouri to California. They stopped off at a small town in Utah where they were given two weeks to rest on their journey.

The movie depicts the plot of the bishop whom holds a grudge against the gentiles since, a former Leader of his was murdered by a pack of them in Missouri.
Mean while, his son falls in love with one of the helpless emigrants and once aware of his Fathers plan begins to hate him.

The main characters of the story include the evil bishop; General Jacob Samuelson, his sons; Jonathan and Mika, and Jonathan’s love; Emily.
Directed in 2007and by Christopher Cain, starring academy award winner Jon Voight, this is a film you can’t afford to miss.

I conclude that this film is suitable for any one above 13yrs who is capable of understanding the detail of the violence, corruption and discrimination, that religion reflected on in those days.
September Dawn is moving yet may give you a sense of disgust towards the people whom butchered those gentiles with out a regret, on the orders of 1 man who had a misconception for who they were. I would recommend this film to anyone interested on whet happened on that grey day of September the 11th 1857.
